Mountain Lion Lunges At Picture Window

The cat caused quite a scare last week after lunging at a large picture window of a home in the 300 block of Cliff Lane, shortly after dark.

"To say we're freaked out, I'd say absolutely," Scott Ogrodnik told 7NEWS on Tuesday.

Ogrodnik says his wife was moving about a living room and heard a loud bang on the glass.

"The moment she turned away, the cat jumped up at the window," Ogrodnik said while pointing to the window. "And you can actually see up here what's left of the imprint of it's nose we think."

The woman turned back around in time to see the large mountain lion circle her back patio before disappearing into the open space behind their home, which is near Peery Parkway and Patridge Circle on the western edge of North Table Mountain.

Golden Police officers and Department of Wildlife Officials are handing out flyers warning citizens to call 911 if they see the mountain lion.

The Golden Police Department has reported a higher than usual volume of calls related to mountain lions this year, but this is the first report of aggressive behavior.
